Rob Harbron is a sought-after multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer, and one of the country’s leading players of the English concertina. He is a member of Leveret (alongside Sam Sweeney and Andy Cutting), with whom he has toured extensively and released three landmark albums, the most recent of which is comprised entirely of original compositions from the trio. He is also known for his work with Emma Reid, Jon Boden and the Remnant Kings, and The Full English, and recently composed, recorded and toured Sam Sweeney’s acclaimed Made in the Great War show.

Rob was Musical Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 2013 production of The Winter’s Tale. He is known in the folk world as a composer of many fine tunes, and he has also written music for BBC Radio 3, the British Silent Film Festival, the English Folk Dance and Song Society and the Royal Geographical Society. Rob has produced recordings for a variety of artists including Methera, Fernhill, Three Cane Whale and Duotone.

The various strands of Rob’s work as a musician come together in his approach to folk music pedagogy, and he is widely considered to be a leading tutor and educator. He directs the English Acoustic Collective Summer School and is a core tutor of the National Youth Folk Ensemble; he has also delivered seminars at the University of Westminster, University of Sheffield, University of Newcastle, University of Limerick and the Swedish Royal Academy of Music.
